First, my background is in painting. I got frustrated. I needed another dimension to play with. The visual imagery of my paintings started to turn into jewellery art. Dark edges of ink paintings grew into pieces of black stone or charcoal chunks. Subtle hints of colour found their form in broken ceramic pieces. A new language was born.
Sometimes the pieces I made are conventional; sometimes they evolve to something impractical and weird. Sometimes they stain careless user. I crash supermarket aesthetics with natural materials such as ceramics, bone, stone and wood. I put things together and see where they want to grow.
Attempt to Contain Love is series of three one-of-a-kind rings. One is too big to be worn normal way and it hurts your fingers with rough edges. Sometimes it is better to let go than try to hold on to something that hurts. One is imbalanced and you have to hold it in place while wearing it. Sometimes it is wiser to let go than use energy to force the balance that does not come naturally. One is fragile and you have to be careful not to accidentally break it while wearing it. Sometimes it is worth it to protect things that matter.
