Contemporary Art Jeweler

Born in Barcelona (1965), Living in Lille (France).

After a diploma in Industrial Design early 80’s at “La Llotja” school (Barcelona ), I took another career for about 20 years. Back to arts, I did an education in Ceramics in Belgium (school of Arts , Tournai, 2003-

04) and decided to go back to Barcelona and do an education in Contemporary Art Jewellery (Escola “La Industrial”, 2004-06).

My final project was chosen by FAD with best final projects of the year. Back to France (Lille), I created my own workplace and won the award of best regional art maker (award SEMA) in 2006. I created Alliages organization in 2009 to promote Contemporary Art Jewellery worlwide.

For me, every jewel is a work of Art. The evolution of the art jewelery clearly shows there is a wish to go beyond the boundaries of traditional jewelery. When jewelery becomes art, the limits disappear, and the jewel-sculpture becomes an independent and timeless work of art, a wearable sculpture that uses the human body as its pedestal.

My workplace is like a laboratory where I like to experiment with new materials and often mixing old and new technques. My work goes in thousand directions, but there is always a red thread that links. Since 2010, I explore the heart as main subject of my work. The heart as source of life or death, the heart as the center of the emotions.

 

设计说明

Growth and evolution is the main goal of the humans, but when you have a heart attack it becomes almost impossible to plan and think about this. When heart attack suddenly happens and heart is damaged, you cannot think about future or evolution, your goal is to survive every day, trying to reach the day after. Hopefully new technologies (pacemakers, defibrillator, transplants,…) arise every day, every month to help in this long path and fight.
